In order from left to right:
Shmoo-y Goodness - Actually this is a repeat from a few years ago, but since we're having some shmoo folk over for a get together Halloween night, it seemed appropriate.
Alphabet B Pumpkin - Terran had this idea to use two B's for eyes on his pumpkin. When I asked him where he got the idea to do this he shrugged and said, "I don't know. I just want to do it that way."
SpongeBob Pumpkinpants - This is Bobby's pumpkin. We wanted to carve something he would recognize. Our first thoughts were Blue or Ernie, but Bruce couldn't figure out how he would carve those (and I think he just plain didn't like the idea of doing Ernie). So...Spongebob it was, and quite frankly he did a good enough job that Bobby spent the evening shouting "spongebob" and pointing to our efforts at commercialism. Go us.
The Alien - I told Terran he could choose what to put on my pumpkin. He sat down and drew a picture for Bruce to work from. Looks pretty alienish to me - that thing on his head is an antenna btw, not a hat.

This is Bobby's favorite thing
to do with his Teletubby toys.

Terran shows off the Lego Car he just "made up."
Durn, if he ain't looking older and older each day.
Ha! Mere moments after posting the entry below, Bruce called me to say he'd managed to get out of the 3rd California trip.
Here's where Heidi does the happy dance. :)
Bruce has had quite the social life lately. By the end of October he will have traveled to:
California
Rhode Island
California
New Jersey
California
Texas
Yup. That's California 3 times in less than 30 days. Crazy, isn't it? Some of it's directly tied into work. The rest was either speaking engagements or in one instance just attending a really cool invite only conference. Add to this mix a few local speaking gigs, his monthly column to write AND the fact that he is actively writing for his upcoming book.... Well, you might start to wonder how he finds time to do anything at all!
Somehow though he manages to juggle all of that madness with his role as husband and father. The kids and I are thankful for that. The day to day grind is much more fun when Daddy is home and the fact that he makes things like taking Terran to his weekly basketball class a priority - it doesn't go un-noticed.
So here's to Bruce and the chaos that was the month of October. November seems to be filling up, but we're looking forward to a slow December.

When Bruce was out of town I took the boys to Pumpkinville. We spent 6 hours there - 3 of those on our own and the last 3 with a friend of Terran's and his mom. The boys were absolutely wiped out when we got home. So was I!

Taken a few nights ago. The boys were cuddling
on the couch watching tv. Too cute, I think.
Huh...well it seems I may have gotten a repreive on the costume making this year. Terran has changed his mind and has asked to be Tony Stewart instead of a crab. A quick stop at www.tonystewart.com has a Tony Stewart "costume" complete with helmet enroute.
The real question is what is Bobby going to be. Some possibilities include a mechanic, the checkered flag, or perhaps something not related to cars or nascar at all.
Also looks like we'll be having folks over for a mini halloween fest.
Should be fun!
