So about a month ago Terran wrote a letter to Tony Stewart. As I recall it was meant to be a note of encouragement, as Tony had gotten knocked out of the previous race due to something or other. Pretty much every day since then Terran has asked, "Did I get a letter from Tony Stewart yet?" As much as I try to explain that Tony is in the middle of racing season, and therefore doing much traveling and probably doesn't have time to write anyone right now - Terran insists that Tony Stewart will be writing him back.
So...I signed T up for the Tony Stewart Fan Club. $25 gets him a hat, Tony Stewart Collectors Box, Membership Card and Certificate, newsletters and a photo. I'm hoping this will take care of things. :)
So we're back. It was a great week - plenty of time spent with family, lots of good food - you get the idea. A quick run down of the weeks activities:
We arrived Thursday night and for the most part went straight to bed. It's about a six hour drive to Allegany from where we live so we were all pretty worn out from the travel time.
Friday was the 4th. All in all it was a pretty low key day. We did some swimming in Uncle David's new pool, ate a great dinner prepared by Aunt Eva and then went to watch the fireworks.
Saturday brought more swimming at Dave's. Terran's swimming lessons have definitely been...no pun intended...sinking in. Even Bobby got in the water and had fun, thanks to an early baptism present from Eva and crew. That night we drove over to Holiday Valley in Ellicotville and sat on the grass listening to the Buffalo Philharmonic and Ben E. King. Once it got dark enough the Philharmonic ended the concert with the 1812 Overture which led into a great Fireworks display over the valley. We had to leave early though - as the noise was a bit much for the kiddos. Plus we wanted them to get some sleep as tomorrow was their big day.
Early Sunday we got the kid's fed and dressed in the outfits we'd chosen for the Baptism. Wanting to honor my Philippino heritage, I dressed both boys in Barong Tagalog, the official men's formal wear of the the philippines. The baptism went well with only a few added touches from my boys. Terran refused to let go of Bruce so while both of them were standing in front of the baptismal font (and Terran was being baptized), Bobby decided to throw up on my foot! A few quick swipes with a baby wipe and all was well. After church we went over to the Dietz's for a celebratory BBQ (as their grandchildren had been baptized that morning as well). Then it was more swimming and then back to grandma's for the first official Potter get together of the week. Sunday was also our 7th wedding anniversary.
More later....
Got the playroom painted! Pictures are here. Not so many right now, but when we get back and the room is more put together I'll post more.
Leaving tomorrow. Got most everything laid out and ready to be packed. Have to dig out the suitcases and maybe a plastic bin of some sort to hold all the little extras. Hopefully we'll get T's bike in the van too.
Back to laundry. Exciting life I have, eh? :)
