Happy Mother's Day

A wonderful day in which I got to be perfectly spoiled.

A few of the days highlights:

I got to sleep in! Bruce made a great breakfast and I got to open the first of my gifts which turned out be a several classical music CDs and NPRs guide to classical music (not the real title, but it's downstairs and I'm lazy).

A little bit later I was whisked off to our local birkenstock store and I got to pick out a new pair of shoes. Then, since Bobby fell asleep we drove around for a bit and stopped to watch a bit of a roller hockey game at some park we just happened upon.

Terran made me a stuffed dog at one of those Build-a-Bear stores. If you push the dog's belly you get to hear Terran say, "I love you, Mom." (It's entirely too cute.) He also gave me a potted flower which they put together at school.

Another favorite moment? I got to take an afternoon nap.

But my favorite part of the day was how often Terran would stop whatever he was doing and come over just to say, "Happy Mother's Day" and that he loved me. Bruce gets major points too for simply giving me some "me" time - naps are good!

It's Raining...

and it looks like it won't be stopping for the next few days. While I don't mind the rain terribly much, it does delay the painters from coming and finishing the exterior of our house. I'm not going to argue with Mother Nature, but it would be nice if she'd let things dry up for just a week or two!

Busy weekend, but mostly fun stuff. Saturday we went to the Fun Fair at Terran's school. It was a big fundraiser for the school's new playground - so there were lots of games and prizes to be had. Terran had a good time and we ran into a lot of his friends as well as Terran's teacher who was selling hot dogs in the cafeteria. Later that day we went for a bike ride and Terran got to try out his new bike for the first time. It's a much better fit, and I have a feeling we'll be removing those training wheels by the end of the summer.

I went and registered Terran for Kindergarten this morning. He'll be attending kindergarten at the same school he originally received speech services at, so he has some familiarity with the building and teachers. Actually, almost all of the elementary schools in this area are built using the exact same plan - which means that walking into different schools can be a bit confusing if you forget where you are.

And that's about it. I still need to get those VA Beach movies up. I'll try to add more pics in T's birthday album too.
