As luck would have it, the worst of the storm seemed to avoid our part of Loudoun County.
Lucky for us. Rather unlucky for others.
The path the storm did end up taking likely is going to result in a greater financial burden for the state due to all the low laying ground and flooding that most likely occurred.
I say most likely because after watching CNN and The Weather Channel all day yesterday I'm a bit burnt out on Isabel news today and haven't bothered to read much more than headlines.
We have a few fallen branches in the yard, lots of leaves both brown and green, and everything is just plain wet, but again we were lucky. Our power didn't even go out.
School's aren't open and numerous restaurants east of here are closed either due to power or water shortages.
Living on the East Coast is quite the difference from the quiet Alaska life we used to lead. I kid you not.
